This is an area I understand not only professionally, but personally too. I have lived experience of EBSA, which shapes how I work and the compassion I bring to this space. I know how isolating and overwhelming it can feel for both young people and families, and how misunderstood EBSA often is.
Counselling can offer a safe, non-judgemental space to explore what’s underneath the distress, build emotional regulation and coping strategies, and help young people feel heard and validated.
It can also support parents and carers, offering understanding, reassurance, and guidance during a very challenging time. Support isn’t about forcing attendance—it’s about restoring a sense of safety, trust, and wellbeing.
