Why I do this work...
Why I do this work I don’t just understand autism from a professional perspective. I understand how it feels to navigate a world that doesn’t always make sense. That’s why I created Towards Change. Therapy is not something you have to force yourself into. If you’ve ever felt misunderstood in therapy before, you’re not alone. And things can be different. #autismcounselling #autisticmentalhealth

Autism Awareness Month....my thoughts
So, April is often called Autism Awareness Month. But if I’m honest, awareness has not really been the issue for a long time. People are aware of autism. They’ve heard the word. They might even think they understand it. But many autistic people are still: • Misunderstood • Overlooked • Expected to fit into a world that doesn’t fit them For me, autism isn’t something that exists for one month. It’s every day. In how I experience the world. In how I understand others. In the wo

Final day of neurodiversity celebration week 2026
As Neurodiversity Celebration Week comes to an end, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the posts I have shared this week. We’ve talked about what neurodiversity means, how it’s an umbrella term for different ways brains work, and how neurodivergent people can experience the world in unique ways. On top of this, accessing appropriate mental health care can be difficult. Serv

It's neurodiversity celebration week!
🧠🌈 16th- 20th March This week is about recognising that there is no single “normal” way for a brain to work. Human brains are naturally different, and those differences shape how we think, learn, communicate, focus, and experience the world. Across the week I’ll be sharing a series of posts to help raise awareness of neurodiversity. Whether you’re neurodivergent yourself, supporting someone who is, or simply curious to learn more, I hope these posts help start conversations
My 'why?'
Why I Became an Autism Therapist I often get asked why I chose this work. Why autism therapy? Why I’m so passionate about creating safe spaces for neurodivergent people? The truth is… it’s because this journey is personal. For a long time, I moved through life feeling “different” but not knowing why. I pushed through burnout after burnout, thinking it was just part of being an adult. I endured workplace bullying because I didn’t understand my needs, and neither did the people
